Marlin House

About This Project

This 1890 Queen Anne Victorian house, originally located in the once prosperous city of Marlin, Texas captured our imagination. Having seen better days, the grand Victorian house had been unoccupied for some time. The house was dismantled and moved 110 miles south to a central Austin lot, where it underwent a full restoration. The electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems were all replaced. Originally a 2900 square foot house, the third floor was added when a downtown view was revealed. All new siding was applied; a new molding was created throughout the house. Statuary marble countertops in the custom kitchen and Viking appliances create the heart of the home. The final result is nothing short of remarkable – a stately house with all the charm of a historic home, yet with the conveniences of a modern home.
